    startup problem with antivirus

    i was really dumb. i had kaspersky antivirus installed.. then i forgot that was installed.. and installed trendmicro's antivirus.. so after i restarted.. it booted fine.. until it went to the startup.. it would show the wallpaper.. but it wouldnt load anything else . what can i do? i think the two anti viruses crashed :confused:

    I am not sure this would work but it's worth a shot. Boot into safe mode. You can do that by pressing F8 while you have the BIOS post, ie before windows starts loading. And selct safe mode. If memory serves me well, startup items won't load. So you will have no problem uninstalling one of the two!

    uninstalled kaspersky for trend micro

    both are ranked pretty high. I am currently using trend micro's PC-Cillin.

    I have been meaning to get kaspersky's trial edition and give it a shot, but haven't done so yet. So I cannot be really sure. But I don't think that either of them is bad.
