wmv is a file format, not an application.

are you saying that you have trouble playing wmv files on your mac?

    search: flip4mac
    install
    done

You just need to associate WMV files to open up with Windows Media Player. Right click on a WMV file in Windows Explorer, then choose the "Open With..." option. I think in there you can specify to use WMP as the default program to watch videos with.

Probably meant WMP. XP and Vista both have things for setting defaults. Check Control Panel.

Control Panel -> Folder Options -> File Types

Then just browse to the extension(s) you want and change the behavior.

Yes you can do it like dbam987's method too.

    :)

Aww, heck, be a man and just go edit the registry directly! :D

Actually, don't do that - stewiegriffin's solution is the better way to go.

    Which OS do you have?

In Vista, it's Control Panel > Programs > Default Programs > Associate a file type or protocol with a program.

Right click on the program you want to play in WMP
    Select "Open With"
From the menu select "Windows Media Player"

    Hope that helps
