Trying to capture a screen shot when computer shuts down. When my lap-top shuts down I see a windows error, how do I freeze the screen so I can see what it is before lap-top shuts down?

Well I don't have an answer to that but if you want you can configure Windows to NOT automatically shutdown when it goes to BSOD so you can see what the error is.

Go to "System Properties"->"Advanced"->"Starup and Recovery"->Settings and disable the "Automatically restart" option under "System Failure". Then reboot your computer. Next time you get BSOD it should stay there until manual restart is performed.

Just look up the error in your event logs.
