    Hello everyone,
Today my HP Pavillion dv6000 started emitting a ringing/bell sound when my wife was sending an email. Now when I turn the laptop on I also get the bell/ringing sound.I have no idea what this is  .Does this mean the 'puter is getting ready to crash or is it something less troublesome. Thanks in advance for your responses.

That could be anything. Did you try listening closer to find out where the source of the noise is coming from? It could be a hard drive, processor, speakers, etc.

Is it like a series of "beeps"?
