    I recently heard about this feature in windows where you are able to access your desktop away from home on your laptop. Not talking about a server, but actually being able to control your desktop through the internet on your laptop. I have never seen in action, until technical support controlled my laptop to solve some problems.

    I was wondering if someone could post a link or some info about how this feature works, especially on windows vista. Any info would be appreciated.

    go to Control Panel -> Network Connections
    Create new connection -> set up an advanced connection
    Accept incoming connections, if this is the comp that u want to connect to
    next, next, allow VPN, done.

    there is also some software you can use. like pctogo or something like that.

    or, control panel -> system.
    go to remote tab.
    and check the box to allow remotely connecting to computers or w/e.
    done.

    thank you for the informative reply.

    Im not sure if this is true, but every edition of windows can be controlled by a remote user. However, only xp pro, vista business and ultimate can actually control other computers.

    Is that true?
