    reinstall windows does vbios have to be updated again

    hi everyone

    as title says i looking to format my hard drive and reinstall windows 7, i have flashed vbios several months ago will i have to do again after reinstall. laptop is a msi gx740

    vBIOS is tied to your GPU hardware, so changing OS wont affect it.

    I think that if you install older Nvidia drivers after OS install you will reflash vBIOS. But looks like you have AMD.

    NO, sorry. I mean I think vbiOS will be automatically reflash when video drivers installed. At least when I go to NVidia control panel to check device info i always see same name of vBIOS as name of driver i installed. like v. 28x, 27x etc.
