hey, so my bro got a new sony vaio from bestbuys last week, and he came over to my house couple days ago and he realized that his laptop speakers go realy low when using youtube.

he can hear properly in itunes, WMP, real players etc. but his speakrs voice goes too low when using youtube, like it gets so hard to even hear of whats going on.

    Things ive tried:

uninstall old flash and reinstall latest flash,
    try IE, Firefox, opera, etc

im not really sure what i am missing or doing wrong, need help plz

does that only happen on YouTube? how about other flash based video sites?

check and make sure the volume is all the way up on YouTube player.

if using Vista, expand the sound mixer and check if every single application's, especially firefox, ie, etc... volume for each one is all the way up or at the same level as the one on the very left.

lastly, uninstall and reinstall your sound driver

flash based sites are any sites that use flash player to play a video file. youtube uses flash, newgrounds uses flash... i think google video uses flash. gametrailers uses flash.

try some of those. if it is just that then reinstall flash player.

and never buy from best buy, they are so worthless.

then the only thing left to do is to update the sound driver.

go to the laptop manufacturer's website, find the model and download the driver.

ok i tried that, found my model and downloaded the sound drivers, and this is what happened:

first it said installing and about after 20 secs it said "program might have not installed correctly" then it said "try reinstalling with recommended settings" i did that but then it said " program can only be installed in windows vista"

i dont get it, his laptop is vista! /confused!

Try seeing if you can run the setup file as administrator(right click the file and run as admin). Most of the time this has helped me with messed up installations.
