Hi, new to the forum, but I'm really stuck and need some help,
I have a packard bell acer laptop model number: MS2384,
it came with windows 8, I tried to use it but after too much hasstle, I realised how much I hate windows 8,
so I gave up and decided to put windows 7 on it, huge mistake,
firstly it would let me put windows 7 on at all,
so I formatted the drive,it then stared to load the windows 7 files,
but said it couldn't install windows "the selected disc is of the GPT partition style",
I looked up a guide which explained how to use Gparted,
followed the guide, which said to delete partitions,

now when I try to boot the windows 7 disc, in UEFI mode, it says
"Default boot device missing or boot failed.
insert recovery media and hit any key then select 'boot manager' to choose a new boot device"

when I try to boot in legacy mode I get same, " the selected disc is of the GPT style"
I'm literately banging my head against the wall, and have no idea what to try next,
btw I don't have the recovery media disc

You must change/convert the hdd from GPT to MBR, not just delete partition, with google you will find easy tutor for this, also I find that Uefi option in bios it is not friendly with Win7, I use legacy...

thanks for the reply, I managed to do that easily,
but now it constantly asks for the recovery boot disc,
looks like I'm just going to have to buy one

EDIT: Sorted, I managed to get it to load windows 7

    thanks again for your help
