A problem came up all a sudden with my Sony notebook running Vista, I pressed Fn + F12 to make it hibernate, however on pressing the on button after to make it wake up, it starts to resume, but then goes to a black screen, then turns off again.... (again and again, it won't wake up)

Can any one shed any light?

    Much appreciated if you can.

As far as I'm aware you wake a laptop from hibernate by pressing the power button, and from sleep by pressing any button...

    Thanks Detlev for trying.
The problem is much more indicative of a fault with the PC but we solved it by removing the battery and putting it back...
Why? we have no idea, nor for that matter do half the people we spoke to at Sony, but there is the solution if you needed it.
