This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    no windows cd, corrupt files...is there a way i can get the original files back? system restore did not work. lost my media center xp cd's...

    Call the manufacturer and see if you can purchase the recovery CDs? Find a friend with the needed files?

    If you have the recovery console installed you can run a chkdsk from there.
    If you have another XP cd but not MCE you can boot into its recovery console and run a chkdsk.
    If it's still booting (which I doubt) you can install recovery console from the internet and boot into that.
