Uninstall java? Reinstall your OS?
Java doesn't cause links to not work. -
Can you specify your problem a bit more? So on any website, all links won't open? Are you able to browse the web at all, or does this only happen in selected sites? Like Lithus said, Java is not supposed to cause links to not work.
What web browser are you using now? If you're using IE, try installing Firefox or Chrome and see if you get the same resuts. -
i have ie8 and chrome does that same. like on this website if i find a thread that i want to read ill click on it and it will open. if i find a link on the thread i want to read, it doesnt open. its very hard browsing.

Have you tried a system restore from back before this started?
-
yes it didnt work. should i try to uninstal ie8 and reinstal it?
-
Yeah. You should probably try uninstalling IE8 and see if the issue persists on IE7. After uninstalling IE8, maybe you can clean out all registry traces first with something like CCleaner; then see if the problem is still there.

Before you start making changes on your system, why don't you check and see if Java is actually the problem. To find out if Java is working on your system visit: "Test your Java Virtual Machine" at ( http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml) and then, go to the Java website for the most recent Java downloads.
If your current Java isn't working properly, you can remove the flawed version, at: http://www.java.com/en/download/faq/remove_olderversions.xml and download it again, with the hope that this time, it will download properly: http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
After re-installing Java, restart your browser and verify Java has been installed correctly here: http://www.java.com/en/download/dt_verify.jsp?plugin=true&latest=false&users_jre=1.6.0_17 Finally, you can get additional Java help at the Java Help Center: http://www.java.com/en/download/help/index.xml
And by the way, you need to install both versions of Java (32-bit & 64-bit) if you are using a 64-bit system. If all of the above doesn't help, then it's time to check out other possible solutions. -
ok thanks for your replies. ill try that and repost.
