My m1330 has been working perfectly since I received it in August. This morning, I turned it on and tried to log in. After the Welcome screen, I got a popup that said "The Windows Vista Home Premium product key you typed is invalid for activation" and three options, Access your computer with reduced functionality, Type a different product key, and Contact Dell to resolve this problem.
I already called xps support, who told me to call microsoft. They didn't help and told me to call dell...

Anyone else ever have this problem? I really need to use this laptop for school

Since the Dell OEM key failed, have you tried activating with the one on the bottom of your laptop? You'll be prompted to call Microsoft and you will go through the normal phone activation procedure.........

This could have occurred through an update in the intel matrix Manager which you would have never seen. Dell does this anytime there has been a hardware change to your system now.

Call them and provide the 39 (I believe) digit code they ask. If it doesnt work, as mine didnt once, tell them to assist you in generating a new code.

If you dont, they will send you back to Dell.

You might be a leftover of the WGA fiasco from 8/28. It's been 30 days. If you installed any updates or validated to download anything from MS during that period you could have been affected. Call MS and tell them it's related to the WGA server problem and they should fix you up.

Way to "out" a brother :)

Spelling isn't my strong point, so spellcheck is my friend.

I had the same problem. What you can do is go to control panel then system. Then bottom go to change product key and enter they same key and click activate. That should solve your problem.
