    installing software to laptop(apple)

    i heard that we cannot simply install other softwares to apple's laptop... is that true?

    Well, software is operating system and processor family specific.

    So, in general, you can't run Mac software on a Windows machine, nor vice-versa. (Yeah, there are emulators and such, but . . . )

    u mean apple doesnt support, microsoft word and things like that? and apple doesnt support program ownd by microsoft?

    The simple answer to this is that there are many software titles written for various OSs. Microsoft, for example, has a version of Office for both Windows and OS X. The windows version won't work on a Mac and the OS X version won't work on a PC...thus you need to know what OS you have and then buy software for that OS. All software will list "system requirements" which will tell you what the minimum hardware and OS is for the software to run correctly.
