Hi folks!
So I am facing an kind of uncomfortable problem now... soon I will receive my new laptop, but the problem, of course, is that iTunes won't recognize my iPhone (that I have loaded with not backed up music) and in order to be able to use the program with my iPhone, it will erase all the music on it...
is there a way on how to use iTunes without it deleting all my music from my iPhone???
thanks!

well I guess that when you connect the iPhone to windows and enable secret folders, you will see all the music right... but it will rename all the musiuc files like this for example: AZXB.mp3 ...
is there a way how to automatically rename all the files from the ID3 tags?
or is there another way on how to solve this situation? -

The iPod touch and iPhone do not have a disk mount ability to do what you want them to do. If you got the music through itunes, you can copy it from the iphone to itunes in itunes itself. Otherwise... It gets complicated.

mk.2: well i will try to do that if I won't find a better solution... the problem will be with music that doesn't have id3 tags...
halfhalo: well yes, this is how it usually works... but when you put your iPhone on a different PC it won't recognize your iPhone and won't colaborate with it... it will ask you to remove all the data you have in it and then you can put new music in it, but it deletes all the files you have in it before...
so I was thinking if there is something like a tweak/registry tweak/hack to avoid this... or like a 3rd party program that would at least allow to put the music out while not having it renamed in the ridiculous names if you know what I mean -
if you click on manually sync ipod/iphone you can "add" songs to your ipod/iphone but not vice versa.
-
ok... but how to make it work vice versa?
(I really hate it that Apple does this on purpose) -
Turn OFF auto-sync.
and do a manual sync.
problem is that now u ll have to do a manual sync all your life like me. -
what do you mean with
even if you do manual sync, iTunes won't let you put the music from the iPhone in to the iTunes library or edit the music in the iPhone through iTunes.. -
wat i mean is if you let iTunes do auto-sync then you will lose all old Songs on the iPod.
so if you want those old songs, then you will have to manually add the new songs. -
PS my kids use WinAmp to sync iPods too. -
hmmm...
so the only way is basically to put the mp3 out with the "coded" names and then try to make them correct with WinAMP? -
any suggestions?

There has to be a third party app that will let you get the music from your iPhone, they have them for the other ipods. Just do a versiontracker.com search for ipod or iphone
-
oh but that unfortunately seems to be just for mac... I have windows
is there a program for windows that would get the music out of the iPhone with correct names? -
