You need to slipstream your SATA drivers and make your own Windows CD. Google nLite.
-
can u plz explain in detail and steps.. sory but i cant understand
-
Greg is saying that your windows xp disc doesn't have sata drivers, so it can't see your sata hdd.
You can either disable sata native support in the bios or integrate sata drivers on to a xp cd.
Your call. -
how can i disable sata native support in the bios or the other solution??

Laptops comewith special SATA drivers? I thought they usually work out of the box
-
XP was written before the SATA standard was implemented
so inorder to to use XP on new hardware you have to get a functional driver embedded into the XP installation or use a FLOPPY and press F6 when prompted..
this link explains it every well

The best way is to make a windows xp cd...
visit this link if you have intel..
http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=414
i hoppe that one helps you -
if no luck there,, then go to the manufacture sites
like INTEL for chipset drivers
realtek or your sound chip mfg for sound drivers
same for Network adapters and other hardware
good luck
you might find drivers by asking in the HP forum... -
