    how to use RDC to coonect to pc over internet

    I know how to use remote desktop connection on LAN to connect to my desktop, i'm trying to figure it out how to connect over internet.. :confused:
    couldn't find something usefull in google...

    Get the IP that you're using for your desktop. If you're behind a router, you'll need to get the external lan IP and then have the RDC port forwarded to the PC.

    The default port is 3389. Make sure your router has the port forwarded and that your firewall opens the port (if applicable). You'll also need to allow remote desktop connections on the host machine.

    ok so my ip is xx.xxx.xxx and my lan ip is 192.168.15.1.
    i just have to enter xxx.xx.xx:3389 on the RDC to be connected..
    i attached screenshot of my router config..wat should i change...
    tanx in advance..

    You need to go to port forwarding section.
    Would be a good idea to put your PC in the non-DHCP address pool of your router as well. Giving it a static IP.

    i believe XP home doesnt support RDC.

    In any case..i didnt feel like fussing around with windoze.

    www.logmein.com

    just use the free version. can access your computer from anywhere. all you need is a web browser. In addition you just have to install a small application on your remote pc.

    thanks i already have vista Biz. i tried logmein but i'm not sure if its safe enough...i loged in to my account on the remote pc and then there was somebody else at the pc and i could see his screen and what ever he do...and he didn't realize, no notification...

    ok is it this on? i added win2k becuase the port # was 3389...
    my firewall allows the connection but i still don't know waht to enter in RDC..
