I decrypted a dvd into a folder using DVDDecrypter. I have a bunch of ifo, bup, and vob files. How do I play these, I was told to double click the first ifo file, and that it will open up in PowerDVD. I did that, PowerDVD opened, but it did not start the video. I updated the version 5.9 of powerdvd, still no luck.

Google Ifoedit...very simple software...its free too! Once you have ifoedit open up and select "Video TS" file.

Any player that can handle MPEG-2 files can play VOB files. If you have an MPEG-2 codec, then WinDVD and PowerDVD can play VOB files. VLC is another player that works, along with Media Player Classic.

Yes and No...Ifoedit will play the whole dvd just as if there was a disc in the drive. the only problem is there will be no audio...I normally use Ifoedit to edit out parts of dvd...example trailers, FBI warning, etc,,etc,,etc,,..... You will need to find dvdshrink 3.2... Once you have dvdshrink...just click open file and select the folder that you have saved your movie too. After shrink loads up the file you will be able to watch your movie with audio....

Change the output option of DVD Decrypter to ISO cuz ISOs are far superior.

i just realized that after i ran dvdshrink it put a 4.35 gb version of the dvd in my C: drive. It is a winrar archive file, i ran this as an iso image, and it played the dvd fine.. This kind of confuses me. Anyone know whats goin on here? lol

i have CopyToDVD and i can burn the 4.35 gb version of the dvd as a ISO file, well the program only picks up the file when i look for Iso files. Will dvd players still play this?

right now to make a copy of a dvd i have to
    1. use ripit4me
    2. decrypt with dvddecrypter
    3. shrink with dvdshrink
    4. burn to a dvd with copytodvd

... but this creates a 8ish gb version of the file(the one made by dvddecrypter) and a 3.5ish gb version of the file (one made with dvd shrink)...i suppose i will just have to delete the 8ish one after i use dvdshrink

Do you want to view the extra too? If not then you should just need to decode the movie only. there should be an option for movie only on dvd shrink. click on Re-author button then drag over title 1 (movie file) over. also select 2.0 audio and delete the rest. there's no point in keeping the 5.1 audio when you are going to view it on your notebook. this should save some more space on your drive. you should also shrink the movie down to 60-70 %. I dont think pq is your concern when viewing it on a 15.4" screen. Hopefully this will help

it depends on the dvd player. Some players are picky about what brand of dvd media you use. It also depends on your media brand. Check out this site for more info. http://www.videohelp.com/
