    noooooo, not mice or touchpad, i want to disable the internal mic on my vostro. I've looked thru the sound folder and on my device manager and i've even looked thru my bios and i cant find anything. I found integrated nic in my bios i have no clue what that is other than that i've not seen anything resembling it. I've got vista business installed btw.

    Right-click on the sound icon in the systray > Recording Devices > Whichever device - Double click on it/Select and click Properties > Device Usage - Enable/Disable.
