I've removed the trial version of MSO 2007 on four different Vista systems in the last six months. I begin by stopping any Anti-Virus program that's running (I disconnect from the internet before dropping the firewall and turning off virus/spyware protection). Then I use the Uninstaller that is part of the MSO package. After that, I reboot and run Revo Uninstaller to clean up any stragglers.

I have had to get rough with it at least twice out of the four instances. I had to go into the Program Files and manually delete some straggler files once. Another time I had to go into the Registry and track down some entries that refused to leave any other way. Of course, tinkering with the Registry is only for the brave! And always backup before you touch a thing! :D

After you succeed in sending MSO 2007 back to HELL, you may need to go into Add/Remove Programs and choose the option "Turn Windows features on/off" to get Windows Mail working again.

FYI- I despise MSO 2007 and removing it (along with any Norton/Symantec products) is the first thing I do on a new desktop or notebook. I still have MSO 2003 Professional with a valid license and I plan to use it forever. :p

I think pc-decrapifier has deleted the uninstaller.

I think i will leave it be, once i am happy my new notebook is not going to die, I will do a complete format and install from fresh Vista home premium dvd.

I am suprised that microsoft has not been taken to task about this after the Internet Explorer fines a few years ago.

    thanks

    John.
