    good video editing software for making highlight tapes?

    I'm wanting to make a highlight tape of my football season and wanted some opinions on a good program for doing it. the video will consist of multiple 3-7 second clips, and still pics. thanks for the help

    I use sony vegas 8. I have also used Pinnacle Studio. Both have a lot of nice features, but they take a while to learn how to use.

    windows movie maker should do the job, unless you want fancy features like slowing down/speeding up video clips, reversing video, video stabilizer, etc.

    I personally recommend that if you have never done videos before, start with windows movie maker, or with virtual dub just to learn the basics - and only after you feel you need the extra features buy something a bit more powerful.

    Are the clips and pictures already on your computer? If so, Windows Movie Maker should do the job. If not, you may need to buy something like Pinnacle, which has more options for encoding and capturing from various sources.
