Before this thread goes any further, I must remind you guys of the forum rules(some posts have already been deleted):

Please do not discuss any torrents/P2P programs. The act of "File sharing" is legal but a majority of whats being shared is copyrighted thus making it copyright infringement which is a violation of the forum rules and that is why these topics are prohibited(Note: we use US laws).

I'm not sure if this is exactly what your looking for, but http://www.pandora.com is really useful for finding new music. I use it all the time for finding new artists of a similiar genre or similiar style to music I already know. Also with IE7 or Firefox there are addons you can have that will download the streaming songs, though I'm not quite sure on the finer legality of doing so.

I think this thread should be closed. Obviously no such thing as free music download/sharing thats legal unless you listen to amateur garage bands or something which isnt copyrighted

OK .. this is not Illegal.

You can use 'imageshack.us' to do a REALTIME file sharing.

imageshack which we guys use to imagehosting can also be used to share some cool pics etc etc... but u both gotta be online.

To upload an image, click "Browse...", select an image, click OK/Open, and then click "host it!". After a short while, your image will upload. Depending on your use for the image, use any of the provided linking codes.

upload: *image *url *video *multiploader *file exchange

    Aww man!

    Dear Pandora Visitor,

We are deeply, deeply sorry to say that due to licensing constraints, we can no longer allow access to Pandora for listeners located outside of the U.S. We will continue to work diligently to realize the vision of a truly global Pandora, but for the time being we are required to restrict its use. We are very sad to have to do this, but there is no other alternative.

We believe that you are in Malaysia (your IP address appears to be "censored" :D). If you believe we have made a mistake, we apologize and ask that you please contact us at [email protected]

If you are a paid subscriber, please contact us at [email protected] and we will issue a pro-rated refund to the credit card you used to sign up. If you have been using Pandora, we will keep a record of your existing stations and bookmarked artists and songs, so that when we are able to launch in your country, they will be waiting for you.

We will be notifying listeners as licensing agreements are established in individual countries. If you would like to be notified by email when Pandora is available in your country, please enter your email address below. The pace of global licensing is hard to predict, but we have the ultimate goal of being able to offer our service everywhere.

We share your disappointment and greatly appreciate your understanding.

    Sincerely,

    Tim Westergen

If you like Nine-Inch Nails, the band themselves and Trent Reznor just released the first CD of the four Ghosts collection on Bit-Torrent for free legally.

It is my opinion that there is no such place to download/share good music for free that is legal enough to discuss on NBR.

yahoomusic.com lol. i think you can only listen to music free online, there aren't many sites that have "free/legal" music. unless the original artist releases the music for free via bittorrent or on some filehosting site.

    But you can't download it.
Same thing, the OP wants to download it for free, not just listen to it online. But it can't be done legally.

It does sound like the OP is looking for ways to pirate music...but there are some legal sources of free music I bet. So this thread stays open, but with the NBR staff ready to close it down if it starts talking about copyright infringement.

combining with the title (good place to download/ share music free) = piracy in disguise, another "beating around the bushes" piracy, splitting hair "piracy" terminology, etc ....

    cheers ...

Everyone here expects this thread to get closed by one of the 13 mods watching it, and even though i know a few sites that don't require a program and are by legitimate people, i don't want to post them because I'm only 99.99% sure it's legal. And i don't need a permanent ban.

    Sorry...but that's enough for me.

    Thread closed.

Here I am thinking that we could mention internet radio, ad supported music sites, anything like that...options (though few) do exist to at least enjoy (maybe not download) music. But no, the OP just wants to pirate it. For that, thread closed.
