I know it supports 32 bit software. Just wondering if there is good 64 bit software out there.

Honestly, I doubt there will be. Thanks to MS making 32bit the default for OEM installations, any 64bit software will have a VERY limited market. So I don't think its gonna happen any time soon.

The main reason for 64-bit right now is for using more than ~3.2GB of RAM. Application-wise, Greg is right, there's not much.

Except for all of the anecdotal HOTNESS of Vista x64!

Just upgrade and don't look back. Your cool points will increase by at least 13%.

Hmm, I don't think there is much out there right now, but it will come. I have Vista Home Premium 64-Bit, so I know where you are coming from. I think game-wise you should see some benefits, but at least a lot of programs work with 64-bit. There are exceptions like iTunes and Rhapsody that don't work, but I wouldn't worry about it. I'm frustrated because I cannot find any screensavers that work with a 64-bit system. Hopefully, our benefits will come soon. :D

That's odd Zee, Itunes has been fully compatible with x64 for months now (at least to my working knowledge). Apple even has an x64 install file.

About the screensavers, I haven't had any problems in that realm either. I'm not sure if it has to do with the Business vs. Ultimate editions. But fortunately, I have not experienced any of those issues. In fact, there isn't a single program I've wanted to use, that I couldn't, perhaps with the exception of a 6 year old version of Photoshop Elements and RMClock, which can be circumvented.

well it would probably be no use to use, but i have 64 bit autocad 2008 and 64 bit 3d studio max

just waiting for a 64 bit edition of the adobe suit.

when i make my portfolio at the end of each semester i scan and work with my drawings that are a resolution of 14,000 x 9,000 pixels, i want to see if it would make any performance increase, while working in photoshop and indesign.

Kind of a general question. What particular software are you looking for?

    Hello Meetloaf,

So you're saying that iTunes is now compatible with 64-bit versions of Vista? That's interesting because back in September of 2007, it did not work. Since the iPhone needs iTunes, and iTunes did not support 64bit, I had to sell my iPhone. One of the reasons for this was that Apple wanted people to use the Mac 64bit OS as opposed to Windows. Would you mind me telling me some of the screen savers that support 64bit? Everytime I download and install a screen saver, it does not appear in the screen saver menu. Thanks.

Sad, I've been running my x64 version of Vista Ultimate since November. Initially I had to manually install the cd-burning driver, but now it install and runs perfectly.

I just did a clean install last night and it's up and running without extra procedures.
