I need something to convert .wmv files to .avi files to import them into a video editor I have, it doesn't support .wmv files. The only thing I can think of is to put it in windows movie maker and then save it as a .avi file, but that's a bit of a hassle. I also need something to covert .wmv to .mov to make videos compatible for quicktime. I tried looking, but couldn't find any freeware from google.

Try Rad Video Tools. It's free, and as long as you have the right codecs, it supports multiple format conversions.

    Cheers.
