    Dear all,

Has anyone ever had a problem with cleaning "compressed old files" under the function of XP disk cleanup. I used to without a problem to free up compressed old files, but all of sudden it remained the same bulky size, like 150,000 bites, no matter how many times I've tried to clean up, I had experienced this kind of circumstance once right before the hard drive of my another laptop crushed down, I am worrying the same consquence would happen, Please give me about ur opinions or feedbacks, thz.

ps. I also used a software called Diskeeper 9 for sys defragment,
and I noticed that system's heavily fragmented along with
disk cleanup (compressed old files can't be erased) not
    functioning right.

Once the files are compressed, they won't get any smaller. That is, you can't compress compressed files. I'm not sure I follow your second issue, but Diskeeper is a great defrag program.

i too, am unsure about your second issue. As far as disk cleanup goes, that compress old files option is virtually useless and it slows your computer down tremendously. I would recommend DELETING those files insted, providing you dont need them. As far as the defragmentation issse, diskeeper, as professional as it might seem, is basicly the blown up version of your built in windows defragmenter. I have experemented with it alot, and it dosent touch big files (it just leaves them fragmented) I would recccomend a program like perfictdisk 7.0 (this is what i use) and i find that its "set it and forget it" feature is useful.
