Bought a new Compaq LT about a year ago and it came installed with a program called SonicMyDVD. It takes up about 300 MBs of space and does not seem to play DVDs. Is it worth keeping for some future function or just useless bloatware? I already have WMP and WinDVD.

Are you sure it's not used for burning DVD-R disks? If you don't know what that is, or do not burn your own DVD's, then it's just bloat.
