i thought about disabling the media center as i dont get it why i would need it?

i would disable the wmp + mce..
i got mpc for movies, foobar for songs.. if one of them doesnt support the format i still got vlc, itunes, quicktime

So why should i still need the media center?

i just turned it off in fetures together with the wmp.. or shouldnt i? :p

    thx

I beleive Windows Media Player palys system sounds like the log-on.

At least on my Vaio it seems like that.

Cound't you remove Windows Media Centre via the "optional Windows components" (or called differently with the same meaning) control, hidden in the Control panel?
That way you can't break something by aciddent.

If you did that then you're OK.

I suspect you still have Windows Media Player installed ;)

Its different to the Media Center.

Don't remove too much or else you may find that you will suddenly lack a feature you need.
