My notebook (as you can see from my sig) I have a 60gb HDD and it is split into 3 partitions, XP 26.3 GB, VIsta 16.8 GB and the last partition is my documents and ECT.
How exactly would I delete windows vista? I don't use it any more and its just a waste of hard drive space.
Is there a right way to delete vista without formatting the whole drive?
I know how to combine partitions and such, I just want to make sure I delete it the right way to avoid future problems
- thanks in advance

I'd label the Vista drive with an obvious label such as "Vista" from Windows Explorer, and then insert the Vista CD. Go about as if you wanted to install Vista until you get to where it has you select the drive to install it on. Then choose to delete the Vista partition. After that create a new partition from the unallocated space and quit Vista setup. Then use your partition-combining skills from within XP if you want to combine your current documents partition and the now-blank one of 16.8 GB.
That's assuming I correctly understood by "not deleting the whole drive" that you meant not deleting all partitions - if you don't want the data on the Vista partition deleted, try those Google links. My best guess would be just to delete "Vista:\Windows", but somehow I don't think that's the right answer.
*Also note Vista's formatter creates NTFS drives, if you want FAT32 that method would not work for you. -
Download a GParted LiveCD. Boot it. Use it to modify the partitions. It's free, quick and easy.
Unless you want to buy Partition Magic for Windows.
delete vista from dual boot....
