Hey everyone. My friend's computer has this weird problem that I can't seem to figure out. I was wondering if anyone experience this before. I uninstalled the driver and then install an updated driver from laptopvideo2go and then I get this blue screen of death message with nv4_mini.sys problem. I thought it was only that driver so I tried something else and it also gave the same problem.

My friend has a Geforce Go 6800 256mb. It is also a Dell 9300 similar like mine and with 1gb RAM. Thanks in advance.

Make sure you completely uninstall the old drivers before installing new ones. I typically delete the .inf's that are related to the special hardware as well, if they're installed into the default Windows locations.

Where would I delete the .inf's? Is it in the /system32 folder?

    Install this: http://www.drivercleaner.net/professional.html

    Driver Cleaner Pro

Basically removes all the files to the graphics drivers. Just choose nVidia in this case off the list it provides.

    Install that in normal mode.
Then power off, and start it up again.
Boot into safe mode (if you know what F key it is) If not...
When its booting up on the windows screen, hold the power button to turn it off.
Power back on and boot into safe mode, and use the program there.
At the same time, install the new drivers there in safe mode.

    Hope this helps

And just to be sure, boot into safe mode before installing/uninstalling graphics drivers

Hmm I think that is what I've been doing wrong. I haven't been playing in the safe mode. Sometimes when I go into safemode it takes a while is that normal?
