This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Shouldn't this be asked in a hardware specific board, or on the Linux board (since all Google hits for bios bug 81 are related to Ubuntu)?

    sooorry..lol well i don't have ubuntu..yet
    i started the desktop alternate install..cause the other wouldn't work..and it ID's a BIOS bug #81 right off the bat..but even when it started in windows it still gave me that..so i'm just wondering is it the bios or the hard drive or what?
