    G'day,
For my Multimedia and Web Design course at school, I have to do an animation for a made up business I designed; we do this with Flash. I want to have a little man in the animation, speaking, is this possible? Or is there a way to make a simple animation using software?... That is simple

If not, then, idk, I'll have to think of something else.

    Many Thanks,

    Joel.

very much possible, unless you want the man to look like a real guy. Simply animations like mouth movements are possible. Im sure you should know how to use the Timeline, and just draw different mouth and hand movements every few keyframes. Use Motion Tween for smoothing out the animations between keyframes. if you're using Flash CS4 (which im not too familiar) then use Classic tween.

recommend you use a tablet to draw the man.

EDIT: darn website thinks the timeline means a lappy. disregard the link.

I found my copy of Toon Boom Studio 4.0 in the back cupboard that I got for christmas, will this do the job? Will it be able to be imported into Flash so I can add text, etc etc. I would like the file in TBS to be saved in AVI or such file - or just be able to be imported into Flash..

no idea what is Toon Boom Studio. but Flash (CS4, not too sure about the older versions) will allow you to import AVI, MPEG-4, 3GPP and DVI files to Stage.

this is Toon Boom Studio; [Here] I think there is an add-on, which can then be imported into Flash, but I'll have to play around with it.

yep the first plugin in the Plugins page for TBS has it. but why not use Flash to do the animation? unless you need really good movements (like TV cartoons) theres really no need for TBS.

Well, the truth is, I do not know how to use Flash that well, and I dont exactly have enough time on my hands to learn how to use it more. We are learning it at school, but I am unable to attend due to my recent surgery. So, in other words, I'm taking the easy way out!

Ha, that's what I'm planning on using... I need to use that, butttttt, I want to animate a man that speaks the advertisement. So, Flash is my base, now I need some other program to make a little man :) Like TBS.

You wouldn't believe how much homework I have right about now, I have a terms worth of work to do in ALL my subjects. I could just not do some of the other work, and take the time to learn Flash, but that is not the right thing to do. And plus, the reason I cannot attend classes, is because I have had major surgery on my back recently, and are still technically in Hospital... I will however, once I get some time, sit down and read the Flash CS3 for Dummies book I got. - Right at this point in time, doing this is virtually impossible.
