    Hi

I am using windows vista at work, and I work writing for a website. I visit this site 100's of times a week.

We have a search function which returns results, and then you click on the result you are interested in and it opens a new window to display the details. Recently I have encountered a problem whereby explorer keeps displaying photos from previously selected results. it correctly displays the text details, but the photos will be from the result of a different entry on the database.

My web developer told me to clear my PRAM (he uses a mac), does anyone know what the vista equivalent of this action might be?

This is happening to me on both my work pc and my work laptop, so should i envision problems for general users of the site? i.e. is this a problem the developer of the site needs to fix?

I know this isnt a tech support forum, but i would really appreciate if anyone could help me out :)

If it happens on two separate machines, that would seem like an issue with the website. The only way to know for sure would be to have someone test the same site with another OS, XP, 2000, a Mac, what have you, and see if it happens there as well. You might also try a different web browser such as Firefox, OffByOne, and so on, to see if it happens with them. Multiple machines, assuming they both have Vista, might be a sign of an OS issue, but I'd lean towards it being an issue with the site. Particularly with the nature of the problem being that it shows the correct article, but the wrong picture. I don't know of a PC equivalent to Mac PRAM, which is non-volatile memory for storing system configuration settings. Clearing the BIOS is the closest thing to that I can think of. That probably wouldn't resolve this. You might try clearing your browser cache. Still, that the problem occurs on both computers is telling to me. Another issue would be that you say you visit the site constantly. Has the problem just recently started or has it happened continously on both machines? If it has happened since you first got the computers, it might be a problem with them, but if it has just started, after a long period of working correctly, something may have changed about the site that has broken it.

    Thanks very much Joe.

The problem is happening on both machines but i have just found out that one uses xp (i dont use this one i just assumed both were vista), so it looks to be a problem with the site. What you are saying makes sense, so i will get back to the web developer and blame him! :)

    Cheers.
