I need some advice/opinions please. I ordered and have received the Alienware quick ship model laptop. I purchased this for my husband for christmas. He does not know he is getting a new toy. The laptop he has now is a compaq 3000 with xp home ed. The games he has are FSX and Star Trek Legacy (stl won't play on his current laptop so it has been unistalled). He has said in the past he does not like vista (he has seen it on my laptop).
Will this new m9750 function better on vista or xp pro. If so does xp pro support sli?

    Thanks
    Debby

If you check on the Star Trek Legacy forums, (where you will see me under user name: Nomad_Souls). You will read that a lot of people have problems with playing the game on Vista, huge frame rate drops and the online multi player doesn't work at all. So from the number of complaint threads on there about the performance that people don't have on Star Trek Legacy when running Vista, i would advise against it, at least until service pack 1 is out for it which does show promise in gaming improvement.

STL is a Bedestha games and all Bedestha games don't work well for whatever reasons( and tey said STFU when we asked for a little compatibility patch for Vista too in Oblivion) on Vista so yeah XP would be better if you plan to play them.

Bethesda do have a habit of making mediocre games and when it comes to fixing bugs they don't do it. Example is that STL was full of bugs, and we got 2 patches, the first was to fix multi player because without it, it wouldn't work at all, the second did not much. Then after much criticisms from the fan base, they just left most of the modders to fix the problems.
