Ok I have kaspersky internet security 2009 I just did a scan and said it found the call of duty 4 was trying to access malicious software and kaspersky freaked out and keep telling me to disinfect so i clicked disinfect and all heck broke lose. I kept getting errors all over the place and I could not do anything! I had to hard shut down just to reboot the computer but then my laptop would not boot! It got stuck for 2 hours on the the little scrolling bar when you first start up your computer. So I hard shutdown again and I had to go to start up repair!!! Did that now I got my laptop running. Now im scared to run a scan with kaspersky. I dont understand how COD4 was trying to access malicious software. Now im freaked out beyond belief! What should I do?

Try installing Malware bytes on your machine and see what a full scan from it looks like... If it finds something, great. If not......

If it were me, I would quit fooling with it and just reformat, but I know not everyone has access to system install disks, so you need to consider your options.
It's just been my past experience that it's almost always quicker and easier to nuke the system and start fresh with just keeping your old docs and files that you can't live without.

Another thought would be to see if you can find someone with Geeksquad's Oneshot scanner that uses all the major AV program's virus database and see what happens.

I think you've caught a nasty bug that Kasp didn't know what to do with. I've never seen my KIS do that...

Ok when i go to reports on my kaspersky menu it says found

    trojan_spywin.32.keylogger.chx

this was found in my cod4 file. I havent played cod4 in abour 5 months on my laptop. Im very confused on that part.

I did a scan with kaspersky again it found nothing this time. When I try to update malwarebytes kapsersky freaks out. So I dont want to mess wit that.

If it matters I did make os backup restore disks when I got my laptop.

I dont thing I can reformat my laptop as I have no clue how to.

Okay, it's normal for Kasp to freak out a little bit when installing and updating mbam.

Can you remove the key logger?

If you don't mind spending time researching the issue, I'd contact Kaspersky support and/or scan the HDD in another pc besides running a full scan with MBAM.
Otherwise use your restore disks and start over.
When installing Kaspersky again (why not update to 2010?), make sure that KIS does not automatically delete 'infected' files, instead choose quarantine.
If Kaspersky finds a false positive you might be able to revert it's actions.
And make an image of your new OS+updates+common programs partition.
A future borked install can then be solved in 10-20 minutes.

Do you have a legit copy of COD4?
Lots of keygens and cracks have false positives.
What is the filename of the file that this was found in?

I have a legit copy of COD4 I have the CD and key.

When I click on open file where infected file was located it just takes me to my activison folder than my COD4 folder.

Ok when I look at reports right bellow where it says trojan_spywin.32.keylogger.chx found it says

"Will be deleted on system restart trojan_spywin.32.keylogger.chx"

I have restarted my system does that mean kaspersky got rid of it? Im running a malwarebytes scan right now and will update you once its done.

The reason I have not updated to KIS 2010 is becuase my brother lost the key that came with KIS09 so I have no way in upgrading and if I have to reformat I will lose my 219 day left subscription. But of malwarebytes comes back clean does that mean i'm in the clear?

I'm not accusing. no-CD cracks are not exactly in full agreement with forum rules, but there are legit uses. Problem is that there are other risks involved, including "payloads" coming with said cracks (keyloggers, viruses, etc).
