    Hi,

I am currently in process of buying a new laptop.
And configuring it with Windows Vista Ultimate Edition 64 bit.

I wanted to know since Windows 7 is coming up in October will I still be able to Configure my current laptop with Windows 7, I mean format Current Windows Vista and install Windows7 with no problems incase I want to install Windows 7.

    Thanks

How you're asking your question is pretty confusing.

If you buy a computer now, you should certainly be able to wipe it and install Win7 in October. You probably will be able to just apply an "upgrade" install, but it's usually best to do a clean install with a new operating system.

Will it be with "no problems"? No possible way anyone could guarantee anything like that since it depends on far too many things; some of them what you do with the system in between now and then. See previous comment about a clean install usually be best way to do a new operating system.

In any event, if you do not absolutely need to order in the next three weeks, I'l wait until on/after 26 June to see if the leaks about offering free Win7 upgrades to people buying Vista Home Premium, Business, & Ultimate are true.

Might as well wait the 3 weeks until the free upgrade program starts.

Everything should install automatically without hazards. Since, Windows 7 RC had this biuld in feature while installation to automatically detect and install the best software..Also, PC capable of running vista with aero interface should meet the requirements for windows 7...

PC not *capable* of running vista with aero also should meet the requirement for Windows 7 with aero, at least most of the time.

    E.g. netbooks.
