    Windows will not boot following restore on IBM R50e ?

    Can anyone help I have ran the 6 restore disks to restore my IBM thinkpad R50e but following this it still boots to the IBM Rescue and Recovery restore screen ?

    Maybe the drive is failing. Try with another hard drive?

    Tried that with a clean drive and getting the same problem ?

    And therein lies the problem, I think. In all liklihood, the system restore disk requires something from the original drive, or the Rescue and Recovery process requires that the os be located on a different partition.

    Is the old Drive still around, or did it die?
