    Windows vista and malware

    since windows vista got different gut than XP; would "old" viruses still work? especially the 64bit edition one.

    Once vista is out, hackers will develop viruses specially made for that OS. So dont worry, just cuz old viruses wont work, doesnt mean there wont be new ones.

    And old ones may work, because Vista still has a lot of the same code from XP, 2000, etc.

    As long as Windows is the dominating OS, viruses, malware, etc will always exist.

    I think if Apple's OS was dominant the way windows is, you'd see the same level of infections. I guess if you were deranged you could say that having viruses made specifically to go against you is a type of flattery. To the victor go the spoils I guess. :rolleyes:

    I read somewhere that it's basically the same kernel. But I'm no expert, just what I read. Probally why Vista has so much security.

    I imagine some would still work, others wouldn't.
