    Hi all,

Been searching for ages (well it seems so) to find a solution for my windows update to work again.
When I try to update the security updates and install a display language I have two errors: 800B0100 and 8024200D.

I ran the readiness tool because microsoft recommended it. I uploaded the checksur.log on dropbox: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/28454635/CheckSUR.log

    Other stuff I tried:
    - Format HDD and reinstall windows (2x)
    - Microsoft fixit program

Hope you guys 'n girls can help me out!

    Thanks in advance

You are installing "display language"? Try again without installing that.

    Hi,

My name is Deepa and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell. First of all, I would like to ask you what kind of operating system you are using. This is because language packs are only available for Ultimate and Enterprise version of operating system. I would like to give you one more information that before you can install a display language; you need to have access to the language files. These files can be on your computer, or on your network, or on your Windows DVD or they can be downloaded from internet.
To install a Language Interface Pack (LIP), double-click the file to open the setup program. To install a language pack, follow these steps:

Open Regional and Language Options by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Clock, Language, and Region, and then clicking Regional and Language Options.

Click the Keyboards and Languages tab.

Under Display Language, click Install/uninstall languages, and then follow the steps. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    For further assistance please reply.

    Thanks and Regards

It seems that my recovery windows 7 DVD had some corrupt files. I used someone elses DVD with my own license key and you might guess it worked. Now my system is able to update everything without those errors.

And yes I am using W7 Ultimate x64. Pretty weird that a DVD can have corrupted files on it while it worked before ;P

Possibly a scratch or imperfection on that DVD.
