Where is the file location for windows updates, and is it possible to back them up to CD / DVD to prevent re-downloading when doing a fresh install. I've asked around and had answers like 'make an image of my HDD' and downloading other types of progs. But is there a way to burn them from a specific location.
Thanks in advance .

Looking around on Google it isn't possible. It doesn't even say where the files are downloaded to. The only way I would do it is if you made a clone of your HDD, or downloaded the service pack CD's. Sorry.

Also I should maybe point out; my reason for asking was to avoid downloading hundreds of MB of updates.
Thanks for the help guys. -

Well I'll give it a try and see if it works, if not well I'll just have to download them. I will post my results after I do it.
Thanks for all your input.
