My Dell Vostro 1500 now intermittently hangs at the login screen. No mouse movement or keyboard input available. It doesn't happen every time, which I find odd. I'm not sure where to start to track this down.

I have dual boot, both XP. Only the one that has the login screen has the freeze up issue. My other partition that doesn't have a login screen (that I use for gaming), never has any issues.

    Any help is appreciated.

I don't know..it's a strange one..we had an issue here at work where one of our servers would hang up and wouldn't recieve any input whatsoever via keyboard or mouse either...but we are using a kvm switch for like 7 servers...I don't remember what was done to fix it but I think checking out the Event Logs might be a good start. And try to think on what was changed recently on the computer just before u realized this start happening...A System Restore might also help if u know how far back to go before the problem occured and if u don't mind losing a couple of files.

Remove the login screen for both of them..!! or change it to Windows 2000 style..!!

I will try the Windows 2000 style and see how that fares.
