After installing Vista x64 on a new hard drive, my laptop gets stuck at the loading green bar (forever). If I safemode, the laptop stops reacting after loading crcdisk.sys. I don't have any external storages plugged in..
If anyone can help me get past this, it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

I would put the Vista 64 disk back in and perform a repair. You may have a corrupted file.

Tried that :(.. Didn't work. Reinstalled like 5 times as well, to no success. Note that XP x32 and x64 both works.

    I don't know but here's what I would try:

Make sure you have the latest BIOS update for your machine
See if there are any hard disk settings in the BIOS... like ATA vs. AHCI mode. Try different settings. You might need to reinstall after changing this. But try without reinstalling first.
You could also try disabling all non-essential hardware in BIOS (modem, sound, firewire, etc.)

I'd also want to check the DVD for errors. But... I'm not sure what the best way to do that is.

Also run chkdsk on the partition it's installed on just to see if there are any errors or trouble reading some area.

Make sure there are no USB devices other than the essentials. Also disconnect all drives other than the OS drive.

Still not working for me. I tried to do a system repair with the vista disk but that's not working. I keeps getting stuck at different files when doing the checkdisk. You think the HD might be bad? another question a little off topic, does the bestbuy 1 yr computer warranties cover software problems or bad HD's?
