I didn't get this CD in my shipment as many others did with their lenovo notebooks. I emailed the company to see if I can get one, but in the event that I cant...

I have been unsuccessful in locating one. I realize they are at compUSA and amazon, but niether ship to Canada (amazon should but it wont when i go through checkout).
Does anyone know where I can get one of these discs?

I've even tried searching around online, torrent sites etc. (This isn't illegal as i own a licence to the software). But no avail.

Help? I'm dying to do one of those fresh installs.

    thanks

    Christian.

The Windows Anytime Upgrade discs are free, so there's not really an illegal way to get one. Just stop by your neighborhood Best Buy and ask(beg) for one. Since every computer comes with one, they'll probably just give you one that came with the displays.

Read the reviews at the bottom, you can't download it.

I really wish someone would offer this on a website for download since it takes forever for them to mail it to you.

I got mine in like 3 days, at a cost of less than $10, incl shipping. For me, it was worth the quick service and minimal effort. Don't even try to download if you could. I can't even imagine a download of that size coming through perfect.

    Microsoft

When you order the Microsoft Anytime upgrade, there is an option to check to get the disc sent.

It is also worth noting that you may not need the disc--some computer makers pre-configre computers with Anytime Upgrade installed

    From the FAQ

How can I tell if I need a Windows Anytime Upgrade disc?
Some computer manufactures have pre-configured computers for Windows Anytime Upgrade. To determine if your computer is pre-configured, open the Windows Anytime Upgrade program (Click Start, type "upgrade" in the search field, and then click Windows Anytime Upgrade). Click the edition of Windows Vista that you plan to upgrade to.

Under the heading “Then, Upgrade Windows Vista,” the text indicates whether the computer has been configured for the upgrade by the manufacturer. If the text states that you need a Windows Anytime Upgrade disc to complete the purchase process, then your computer manufacturer has not pre-configured all editions of Windows Vista on the hard drive and you will need a Windows Anytime Upgrade disc to complete the upgrade installation.

Thanks gerry. The disc is required to do a clean install with the guides posted on these forums.

With enough searching the microsoft website, I found it.. here:

    https://na.windowsanytimeupgradestore.com/WAU_DIRECT/Purchase.aspx

Select your copy of vista, check "no" to "do you have anytime upgrade dvd" and then remove the vista upgrade from your cart and be left with just the anytime dvd, $0, but $9 shipping.
