    Well since that thread is closed due to its age, I'd say continue discussion here.

    Personally I've found Vista's battery management tools to be more effective than XP.

    Vista is much better than XP when it comes to power management. Windows 7 beats them all

    From stats I have seen Vista adds about 30 min and Windows 7 add another 30 min onto that on average.
