EDIT: Troubles arise! I've put a few files in my shared folder and now it won't let me take them out. What the...? What do I do?

    ---

Good morning everyone! I'm having trouble using shared folders on both of my Windows XP machines.

Goal: To get a 6gb file from one XP machine to another.

Problem: The machine receiving the 6gb file claims that there is no disc space for the 6gb file.

Solution: Jump out of my window or somehow get this to work. I thought about the first solution for a good five minutes. I live on the first floor of my house so no real damage would be done to me. Then I realized it wasn't exactly a good solution, let alone a solution at all.

Notes: Both hard drives are NTFS, so +4gb files are supported, I just don't know why I'm seeing the error message if they're both NTFS. I do have an external hard drive, but it's formatted FAT32 so I can't do +4gb files. Unless there is some way to split my file into two pieces??? The file type is .iso. Perhaps, because I'm running the receiving machine on Boot Camp, could that be a problem? The Boot Camp partition is NTFS...

Any help is appreciated on figuring this out!!! Thanks in advance!

    [Look to read!]
the obvious question: you have more than 6gb free on the target machine? :) i know, but it has to be asked.. :)

Haha, I'm just in a joking mood today.

Earlier I was pulling my hair out over it not transferring because it said that there wasn't enough space, and I checked. There wasn't enough space. But it still wasn't and isn't transferring even after I freed +20gbs. It's giving me the same not enough space message.

Do shared folders have a cap in terms of the max file size they can transfer or something?

By chance is one of the machines formatted as FAT32? You'll get the same message because FAT32 doesn't allow big files.

    Yes, both are NTFS.

Problem #2: The host computer won't even let me move the file back to my documents or anything. I'm going to try safe mode with networking or something like that.

Problem #3: Neither my trackpad, logitech mouse nor microsoft mouse work in safe mode.
