funny how that happened within 30 mins of VirtualBox 3.0.4 being available for download.

    Conspiracy theories anyone?

I think it's just a coincidence. Nothing more, as everyone knew XP-Mode was coming.

XPM RC was actually announced either Sunday or Monday of this week, so VirtualBox is the later of the two on that count. But 3.0.4 is a maintenance/bug fix release for Virtual Box, and is right about on schedule (they have a release every 5 weeks or so). No conspiracies happening with it.

I'm installing the XPM RC and will see if it's any more stable than the beta, which gave me a nice BSOD. If so, I'll see if it's got enough graphics power to satisfy me on compatibility with older games - though even if it does, I can't see myself using Win7 at this juncture.

Where is 3.0.4?? I only see 3.0.2 on the website. 3.0.4 has also not been discussed in the forums.

Good point. 3.0.2 is the version on Sun's site. A quick Google shows someone reporting Mint Linux having 3.0.4 in their repositories.

And... with a bit more Googling I found it on Sun's site: http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/3.0.4/

Well, I'll just wait until it's "officially" released. I'd assume the file would be the one with "Win," but there should be x86 and x64 versions, so there's a bit of confusion with that.
