What are the specs on your laptop? Have you ever done a clean install? What anti-virus software do you have? Thanks.

My Laptop specs:
Intel core 2 duo T7250 2.0 Ghz / 2GB DDR2 667MHz / NVIDIA Geforce 8400GS / 160G 5400RPM SATA HDD / Windows Vista home premium
Anti virus: Eset - Nod32
I have done a full recovery install before, I also disabled start up items, it didn't fix the slow booting issue.
thanks -
Has this always happened ever since you first installed?
-
yes, I was told that if I disable the UAC it would speed up the booting time.
Is it ok to disable this vista feature?
Thanks -
Disabling UAC doesn't help boot time. That's just stupid.

try disabling every component of your notebook in the bios (bluetooth, wlan, cam, what ever) and see if that helps. like that you could detect which driver may be responsible for the slow boot.
i removed (not in the bios but in real) all the stuff like card readers, extra usb stuff, usb-wlan etc from my pc. it gave me back 2 min of boot time (now equaling 30 sec or so).
it will by a big chance be because of bad drivers. i have an hp pc, and it helped a lot. -
I will try this, but would it help if I install vista sp1?
