I read on the microsoft website that basic didnt run dual-core processors, does anyone know anything on the subject? I can't find any material on the subject

By the way i have the dual core monitor gadget running and it says that both cores are being used by vista and other programs?

can anyone shed some light on this faulty operating system?

No...Basic doesn't support two processors (as in using two sockets on a mobo). It fully supports dual-core processors in a single socket.

I read on the microsoft website that Vista is supposed to be much better, faster, more secure, less prone to crashing than any other operating system.

can anyone shed some light on this?

/sarcasm, for all of you who don't get it.

Basic supports dual and quad cores, as long as its in a single socket.

    Marketing BS.

Vista is actually slower than XP, under most circumstances.

P.S. But yea, I've also been reading that consumers are also suppose to be gullible, abusable, usable and almost entirely naive sheep-like animals -> Oops..I've been reading from my corporate handbook again :p
