I downloaded the latest version and it's really nice. The interface has been completely re-designed into a much more modern look/feel. It's taken over as my media player of choice.

absolutely! WMP11 is superb. You can add album art quickly, and search albums in a flash. Its a much needed upgrade to a great audio player.

Windows Media Player 11 is a definite inprovement over WMP 10, and I like it. I still use iTunes for most audio stuff, mainly because all my files are the Apple format (from the iTMS).

I use winamp since many ages. And WMP only for videos, so i never tried to make audio-albums i with pictures and so on with the WMP. I just keep them all in one folder and rename them "artist - songtitle"

So i cant say anything about that. Apart from that the look is cool, but where are the improvements? I do not even see the songtitle if i resize it? The time goes to the top right?

So unlike winamp you can't have it at a decent size on your desktop next to other things.

I dont get why its so famous :)

What kills me with WMP 11 is that it doesn't support the WMP toolbar yet. I'll hold onto WMP 10 until WMP 11 finalizes.

WMP 11 looks great. But I am so use to how things are viewed in WMP 10, not willing to make the switch. Cant really seem to be able to get the song name to go right over the visual like in v10.

Does WMP 11 come with a MP3 encoder built into it ?

Or do you have to add buy a plug-in to RIP MP3s ?

    Thanks

    EDIT - I downloaded WMP 11 ...

Answer to above question, YES, WMP 11 comes with a built in MP3 encoder, Ripped some music already and I like the 'look' better than WMP 10.

    Thanks All !
