    Hi,

I made a big mistake of updating my windows live messenger to version 2008 (8.5.1302.1018)

From the time When i click on it & from the time it launches... its sooo slow that in that much time entire Vista (without SP1 RC) can completely start & ready to use other programs..

It takes more than 1 min..

What could be the reason? ...my comp is good (see signature..its dual core)..and older version was fine..

This new version with the 'Reflective GUI' is just to slow... in that much time i can make an ISD call..deliver the message & finish my conversation..

Any solutions? is it AMD's processors Fault ?

P.S: In the processes (when i open task manager) it stays at the bottom... and after more than 2 mins....even if i click on the icon ten times.. all ten Live messenger processes will stay at the bottom & never load.

Unless you really need WLM's official client I vote you use Pidgin...

    www.pidgin.im

Its far more light weight and has some nicer features (like spell check).

Sorry I don't have an answer to your direct question thuogh as I don't run the official client anymore :|

there are tons of alternatives... but i actually wanted some users with similar experience or a solution.

Alternative is not really the primary solution.

    but thanks for your suggestion

Try to delete it and install again. You can also try to run some kind of program like WinASO registry optimizer.
