    Hello Notebook Forum Community,

I would greatly appreciate some help with installing the new Windows Live Messenger for XP.

I am getting the following error,
" The Older Version of Windows Live Messener could not be removed. Please close all other programs, and then re try again. It looks like another program may be preventing the installer from installing. hr:0x80070643."

The installer stops working when it gets to something like, "Roll Back: Windows Studio" something like that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    ~Kan15

EDIT: I can't remove my previous live messenger either, I keep getting an error like MsnMsgs.msi not found, cannot continue unistalling.

No, thank you so much! This solved my problem.

I deleted all my registry files associated with the old one, tried a stand alone installation and it worked!

    Thanks alot!!

P.S The new Messenger is sweet

    +Rep given :)

good to hear that it worked! i had similar issues with a new version of skype and your error description sounded pretty the same. using the full installer solved that that time, so i'm glad that it worked also in your case. :)
