    Hi,

    I have a compaq presario 716E.
These come with Win XP Home pre-installed.

I have decided to upgrade hard disk drive.
Now I have to re-install Windows.
The problem is that Compaq did not provide any installation CD for Windows XP [ :(!] just a useless disk repair stuff.

Is there any LEGAL way to install Windows XP Home on the new disk?
I mean other than getting a pirated version?

thanks in advance for your replies,

    Gregg

Conact HP. They sent me a new OS disc after I lost it. For free no less.

I can't believe that they wouldn't send you a system restore CD or something, with most comercial vendors they will send you a system restore/recovery CD as well as an Application restore/recovery CD.

I agree with zazonz though, if you don't have it contact them and they should send you one.
